The final injury report ahead of Sunday’s season opener between the Bucs and Vikings was released Friday afternoon, and it featured a big upgrade for Tampa Bay and a new addition for Minnesota.
Rookie defensive lineman Calijah Kancey, who returned to practice Thursday for the first time since injuring his calf on July 30, was upgraded to full participation on Friday. He is officially listed as questionable for Sunday’s game, but things appear to be trending in the right direction for him to make his professional debut. Head coach Todd Bowles called him a game-time decision, however.

As for fellow rookie Cody Mauch, he was once again sidelined with the back injury that popped up on the injury report Thursday afternoon. After practice, Bowles gave a little more insight into the injury.
“He just has spasms right now, so we will see how he feels on Sunday,” Bowles said. “I don’t know how that’s going to be.”
Minnesota’s big addition to the injury report on Friday was pass rusher Marcus Davenport, who has an ankle injury. Head coach Kevin O’Connell seemed confident that Davenport will be available, but we’ll see for sure on Sunday.
