The Tampa Bay Buccaneers got a much-needed win in Week 4 against the Philadelphia Eagles after an ugly Week 3 loss. Now, the team will go on the road to play its first divisional matchup of the season on Thursday night against the Atlanta Falcons.
With a record of 3-1, the Bucs are No. 1 in the NFC South, and the Falcons are No. 2, already touting a divisional win versus the New Orleans Saints. However, playing on Thursday night could make it more difficult for Tampa Bay to compete at full strength due to injuries. Monday’s injury reports were drastically different for the two rivals, with the Bucs having 15 men listed and Atlanta having just four.
Will Bucs Starters Return on a Short Week?
It’s been three weeks since Bucs right tackle Luke Goedeke played in a game. The starting tackle has been dealing with concussion symptoms ever since the team’s Week 1 victory, and it remains uncertain whether or not he’ll play against the Falcons, though after he was once again a limited participant in practice.
One player who was much more surprising to be inactive on Sunday was rookie wide receiver Jalen McMillan. Last week, he tweaked his hamstring in practice and was unable to go in time for the game. Today, he was a non-participant in practice, meaning that the starting receiver could be held out for a second straight week if progress doesn’t improve quickly.
