On Saturday, the Dolphins placed starting quarterback Tua Tagovailoa on injured reserve. Tagovailoa will now miss at least three games with fractured ribs. So when the Bucs host the Dolphins in Week 5, it won’t be Tagovailoa under center. That honor will likely fall to current Miami starter Jacoby Brissett.

Brissett has faced the Bucs once in his career, nearly beating Todd Bowles’ defense in 2019. Tampa Bay prevailed in a 38-35 shootout over Brissett’s Colts, but the veteran quarterback threw for 251 yards and two touchdowns with no turnovers. Brissett will likely face a much tougher Bucs defense in Week 5 in Tampa Bay.

Brissett took over for the Dolphins last week agains the Bills. The N.C. State product went 24-40 for 169 yards and no touchdowns with one interception in Week 2. Brissett was also sacked four times. Miami lost, 35-0.

To fill Tagovailoa’s spot on the active roster, former Bucs quarterback Reid Sinnett was elevated from the practice squad. Sinnett was an undrafted free agent by the Bucs in 2020. He’s now one injury away from seeing the field in Miami, as the team’s lone backup quarterback. Could a Sinnett revenge game be in the cards for Week 5?

First, the Bucs will look to remain undefeated when they face the 2-0 Rams in Week 3 in Los Angeles on Sunday.
