WFLA News Channel 8 sports anchor Dan Lucas sits down with Bucs head coach Todd Bowles after each Tampa Bay game to assess the outcome in a segment called Bucs With Bowles. This exclusive content can be found on the WFLA YouTube channel and on PewterReport.com.

Following the Bucs’ 20-6 win against the Titans that snapped Tampa Bay’s four-game losing streak, Lucas and Bowles hit on several topics in the five-minute interview. Highlights include:

Todd Bowles on the Bucs bouncing back from last week’s loss at Houston:

“When you play bad you want to bounce back. We had a good week of practice we understand what we did the week before. The focus was there is. It was more for us than it was everything everybody else – we’re mad at ourselves. So you want to play well after a performance like that and I thought those guys locked in. You can either look in the mirror or you can run away from it. We looked in the mirror at ourselves and we came out and played a good ball game.”

Todd Bowles on limited Derrick Henry to just 20 yards of offense:

“We played across the line of scrimmage you know. Henry, he’s a load he’s going to be a load every week. To not get him started running once he gets going – if he can get four or five steps on you he’s coming downhill in a hurry. I thought we did a good job of halting that early on and getting them in some second-and-long situations that helped us.”

Todd Bowles on the play of veteran linebacker Lavonte David:

“It’s just a whole different level he’s playing like he’s still in his prime love the way he prepares love the way he moves around he plays like he practices.”

Todd Bowles on Mike Evans rebounding with a touchdown after his dropped TD in the end zone:

“When you got your Bell cow and you’re riding him and he makes a mistake you go right back to him because you know he’s going to come through he’ll be more pissed at himself than we ever would and the best way to get over that is to throw it right back to him.”

Todd Bowles on trying to slow down 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey:

“It’s not just him they got a lot of weapons you know he’s one of about five weapons so that makes it extra tough you can’t concentrate on one guy they have so many pieces and do so many things he’s a great running back without a doubt and he’s a great receiver and he can block and he can do everything they need him to do but we got to focus on the offense as a whole defensively as vice versa our offense with their defense but we got to play a mistake free complete football game or are they going to burn you.”
