The Bucs will be without several players at the start of the team’s 2025 training camp. The team issued a press released on Tuesday with seven players unable to participate at the start of training camp.

Head coach Todd Bowles said that he expected everyone to be ready to go for training camp at the conclusion of Tampa Bay’s mandatory mini-camp in mid-June. But that won’t be the case.

As expected, the team has placed wide receiver Chris Godwin and left tackle Tristan Wirfs on the PUP (physically unable to perform) list. Godwin is still recovering from a Week 7 ankle injury and the team is hopeful he can return to action in Week 1.

Joining those two starters are three reserves: quarterback Michael Pratt, tackle Silas Dzansi and guard Sua Opeta.

Bowles told JoeBucsFan on Tuesday that Wirfs should return to action “sooner than later.” But he didn’t rule Wirfs missing the start of the season either following knee surgery a few weeks ago.

Tampa Bay brought in veteran free agent for a workout on Tuesday but Pewter Report has heard that the team will likely not elect to sign him.

More Bucs Will Not Participate At The Start Of Camp

Tampa Bay also placed linebacker Anthony Walker Jr. on the active/non-football injury list and rookie defensive tackle Desmond Watson on the active/non-football illness list. Walker is expected to back up both SirVocea Dennis and Lavonte David, while Watson, who weighs close to 450 pounds, is competing for a reserve defensive tackle spot on the roster.

All players will count toward the 90-player roster limit and are eligible to be activated at any time prior to the 53-player roster cuts.
