The Bucs are getting a vital piece of their offense back on Thursday. Head coach Bruce Arians confirmed after Wednesday’s practice that wide receiver Antonio Brown will come off the COVID list and rejoin the roster.
“He’ll be back tomorrow no matter what,” Arians said. “His 10 days are up. He’ll be back.”
Brown was placed on the COVID last Wednesday, which forced him to miss Sunday’s game against the Rams. Kevin Minter recently taken off the list on Monday and returned to practice, and Brown is up next.
While we’re all looking at Sunday night’s game against the Patriots as the return of Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski to New England, Brown also gets a shot at his old team. However, Brown never played a game in Foxborough as a member of the Patriots.
His lone game came on the road in a win over the Dolphins and he was released a week later. His brief time there may have caused a butterfly effect, though, as his friendship built with Tom Brady eventually led him to the Bucs. A couple months later they were on the way to winning Super Bowl LV together.
Brown has six receptions for 138 yards and a touchdown in two games played this season.
