According to Rapoport, Godwin did not suffer any damage to his meniscus, which is good news. He is expected to make a full recovery.
Godwin, the Bucs’ franchise player, is playing on a one-year deal that pays him $15.983 million. He will be an unrestricted free agent in March and it is expected that the Bucs will be negotiating a long-term deal with Godwin’s agent over the next few months.
Godwin plays the slot wide receiver position, which is the most important role in Bruce Arians’ offense. In his five-year career in Tampa Bay, Godwin has 342 receptions for 4,643 yards and 29 touchdowns. Godwin just completed his second 1,000-yard season with the Bucs, and he has made one Pro Bowl in his career, which came after the 2019 season.
