I believe SINCERELY Auburn was stealing signals. They knew every single thing our offense was doing when it happened. I was thinking "either AU is stealing our signals, or this D would shut down a Brady/Manning-led offense with ease."I've never seen a team right up a QB's ass within a nanosecond of the snap, or even the magnet-like coverage on our receivers. I was amazed and SCARED because I realized we couldn't he breathe let alone muster a yard of offense with the way the AU defense was playing.

I am fairly certain they were. In the second half, I saw FSU staff and players on the sideline trying to block Jimbo with a towel. Made me wonder if they were making adjustments just in case. Hell of a game to watch though.

Granted, AU is no push-over, but their defense and especially their secondary was never that good throughout the whole year. They say Daymeune Craig (used to be on Jimbo's staff but is now at AU) was the one giving the signals away.
31-10 after the fake punt and signal stealing...
I've seen the towel guys many times next to fisher. I didn't pay attention to it against auburn. Are you guys saying fisher choose not to hide his signals when he was coaching against a former assistant?

Actually, you are mistaken one of the interesting things this year was no towels in front of Fisher. Fisher hasn't used towels all season until the second half of the Auburn game.Fisher indeed admitted he should have anticipated such a thing from Craig with Auburn. After all that has always been the mode of operation in the SEC. No one cheats more or better than the SEC. :'( :o
Heard Red Lightning threatened to kick Daymeune's ass when Kelvin told him about the signal-stealing. After that, it mysteriously stopped and FSU commenced in whooping that ass.

It's not, but wouldn't surprise me if that's how they beat Alabama.
They stole the "kick the long fg short" sign?
People shouldn't make a big deal out of this. stealing signs is a part of the game. thats why so many coaches hold things over their mouths when they call plays or they have multiple guys sending in signals. It goes on in baseball too. I think almost everyone attempts to do it to a certain degree. Its not like they broke into Jimbo's room and stole his playbook. if anything I question Jimbo for not anticipating this. he had to know that Craig would be fully debriefed by the Auburn DEF coaches during the month off and would also help them during the game.

No, that was just a big fat fail on Saban's part. If your kicker is not Janikowski then you don't attempt a FG from that distance when time will expire. Bad coaching right there.

bingo .... i.e. wasn't prepared properly and was being outcoached at the beginning of the game
i would agree with that. but i think the sign stealing thing is somewhat over-rated. i think where Craig probably helped most was breaking down film with Auburn def coaches during that month long break and telling them what to look for when we are in certain formations, personnel groups and Jimbo's preferred play calls in certain down and distances.
