The East team defeated the West team 23-13 in the 89th annual Shrine Game played on Saturday at Tropicana Field. Eric Dellaratta was in attendance and wrote this report on the most impressive players and those that didn't have their best game. https://www.pewterreport.com/index.php?option=com_k2&view=item&id=9591:&Itemid=15

Sounds good, more and more like he might end up here too.

I really hope Garoppolo is still around at the top of round 2. The kid has gotten a lot of good press lately, and justifiably. That means he's going to be on just about every QB-needy teams radar in between now and May. A lot is still up in the air, but in a QB starved league I wouldn't put it past a team that's really desperate for one to move up and grab him in the bottom third of round 1. I like him better than Johnny Football at this point, and I also like him more than EJ Manuel who I thought was a reach for Buffalo last year (and this is a Noles fan talking). Hypothetically, a team like St. Louis could trade down in RD1, address another need, and still use that ammo from the move down to move back up for a guy like Garoppolo.

If he plays well at the Senior Bowl he could wind up going in that same zone as Flacco second half of R1, most likely as you said a trade up team. His level of competition will hurt him but:1. You have Flacco's and Romos of the world showing the jump is not impossible2. Unlike other Lower division studs, Josh Johnson, he is a lot more mechanically sound. He has an NFL delivery and good accuracy.

I hope the hype continues with "must have a QB" for the six spots ahead of us so we can get a top non QB player.  I still believe that this crop of QB' s are not  worth picking until after the 10th spot and most of them are 2nd 3rd round picks.  Just my opinion, but Bortles is the only QB I would pick if the Coach believes that he must have a QB.

It's amazing how smart some message board posters are. Certainly a lot smarter than those silly NFL scouts, GM's and Coaching staff's who will be drafting QB's throughout the first round. Oh well, comic relief IS a good thing. We may or may not draft a QB in the first two rounds but I certainly hope we do. Having weatched today's Championship Games does anyone think Mike Glennon is anywhere NEAR that good?. Hell, I don't think Matt Ryan who Glennon is sometimes compared to is near that good. To win in today's game, win on the playoffs, you HAVE TO HAVE A GREAT QB. And pretty much the only way to GET one is through the draft. In a strong QB draft such as the one coming up in May I think the Buccaneers have to go for it.
