Scott/Mark: while I will by no means say Glennon played his best day as a pro, I wanted to make the case that you all graded him too harshly. Yes, he threw the INT and he also had some off target throws. At the same time, I can think of four big plays he made that his offense took away from him. In the first quarter, Evans had a big drop on first down that set up our first third and out. On the next play, he hit Rainey on a long middle screen that gets called back for holding by the infamous #72 who forgot that you want people to come in on a screen play. (to me, this was the turning point of the game). In the fourth quarter, Glennon hit either Jackson or Evans in FG only to have the 25 or so yard game called back to another holding penalty. And in OT, his pass to the TE was the perfect read and was primed to either start a good drive or at least pin Minnesota deep in their own territory. If you say this in your article, I apologize, but in the first half we ran the ball up the middle on first down every time...anyone who pays attention knew what we were going to do, which sets Glennon up for harder situations later on. Once we began to throw on first down and mix it up, we began to move the ball some. The o-line also was giving up big time pressure while Bridgewater got to read the paper and eat a hot dog at times in his pocket. I'd give Glennon a minimum of a C and possibly a B that his offense cost him numerous plays.Would love your take, as at least the part I read didn't address this save conservative play calling early.
