He's a baller, period.  With all the talk of him going late-first due to character etc., you best believe the Texans are weighing him with their pick.  They almost have to take him at this point, the guy is too money not to, and a Texas boy to boot.Regardless of what Houston does, the Rams are salivating at the prospect of trading down from #2: either Bridgewater (who also looked outstanding) or Manziel will bring them big-time return on what is essentially a free pick for them.  I would completely support the Bucs moving to that spot in order to snag one of the two, but it's going to be a no-holds-barred deathmatch of a bidding war for that honor.  Oh boy.

The Rams could be great soon with all the high picks they've stockpiled. Why doesn't that type of thing ever happen to the Bucs?

Jonny was a blast to watch.  I'm not sure he'll make it in the NFL, but it will surely be interesting. On another note, if the kid from Oregon also comes out, the draft is going to create a lot of sparks.

Dear god no, no, no, no. Give me a pro QB not some fan favorite who won't be a favorite when his college game doesn't play in the pros.

I bet you said the same thing about Russell Wilson and absolutely hated Fran Tarkenton.  The nerve of those guys that can scramble and just make plays! No worries! Dal, while I would love to see him here he will be gone before the Bucs pick due to those aware of Russell Wilson.  Best choice for the Bucs after hiring Smith with Tedford as OC and Angelo as Gm along with Jay Cutler  is to pick up Sammie Watkins for the slot receiver with their pick.    That would make me a happy camper...

No, Wilson wasn't a running QB and he was an insanely refined passer in college. Not even close to Doug Flutie II at aTm . The thing is the ability to extend plays is good but you have to be able to make the basic plays and he's not that good at doing the basics that we should be excited about the rest.

No worries Dal he won't be picked by the Bucs..  Hey I understand the numbers thing and that is why Wilson lasted until the 3rd round.  The point is JM extends plays better than any QB I have ever seen.  Sure he could flop in the Pros and certainly has his doubters. I am not really a fan of the guy but I can't deny that he doesn't have incredible skills. The team that drafts him will have huge ticket sales and I have a hunch will be successful.  Stay tuned....

Johnny Football is an absolute beast!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! But the GM that takes him has to have guts, a plan and a coach who believes in him. Wouldn't mind at all if the Bucs take him but they better have people in place to coach him.

Jason Cole ?@JasonPhilCole 4hNFL scout on Manziel: "He's Favre. On Sunday, he's going to play his ass off. The rest of the week, he's going to do what he wants to do."

That game last night was pure awesome. JM was in full beast mode. I still don't buy all the way in... even looking past stuff like Cole's Tweet, there's some stuff about his game that makes me wonder if he'll be able to consistently work an NFL offense. The arm's fine, the height's not a big deal, and his athleticism will translate I think... maybe I'm missing it but there's a TON of projection when it comes to the NFL throwing game (timing routes, drop backs, etc); lots of production from those shovels, bubble screens, and pure playmaking by guys that are 6'5. I bet as the NFL media moves into draft coverage mode we'll see a lot of analysis like this come out.

Manziel is a great college football player and he is exciting;  unfortunately, he's to small in frame and would be injured more than healthy in the NFL.  His arm strength is not that good either.  Did some of you forget what happened this past summer at Manning's QB Camp?  He's going in the early 2nd round and that is still a big risk for a team.

Many QB's have played at his size and played well. He's also stockier than he may seem to some, tough. His arm is certainly good enough and he is accurate whether in the pocket or on the run. Plus he sees everything on the field. IMO the kid is a special unique talent and I'd love to have him in Tampa. I believe he's still rated as a top three QB in the deraft and will most certainly be a first round pick. I'm just a fan, not a so called "expert" but many of THOSE guys are agreeing with me these days. Hey, it's a wish...hope for exciting winning football in Tampa again. I'll take that "risk" (ALL QB's drafted high are risks) any day.
