It happens regularly and I dont think its even newsworthy that the Glazers could've have checked on Cowher's status in Nov. I suspect part of due diligence is seeing what your options are IF you change. If you're on the fence about Schiano isn't the availability of other coaches relevant?I just dont place the significance you do on the report, even if accurate, you're disappointed in the Lovie selection to start, right? Yes, the owners are so desperate they went to a guy that's turned them down before, and a guy they fired.The latter is more interesting than the former.It's not so much that I don't like Lovie - I do - I just know what that means: little to no effort on offense - major focus on defense, offense struggles 1st season as we win just a a couple less than we lose, year two - Brees, Matty-Ice, and Cam Newton own us, but we get to 7-9 and miss the playoffs or at best we go 9-7 and miss the playoffs...

Personally, I think this is just a case of the Glazers reaching out to both coaches to see if they were interested in coaching again, and if so, would they have any interest in Tampa? In other words, pure lawyer-to-agent calls that don't mean much of anything. It's not like Malcolm talked to Bill and Jon directly, and specifically asked them to interview for the position. Moving on...

Just making the calls indicates cluelessness to me. They lack football judgement AND imagination. And I am sooo grateful they somehow managed to get Lovie... provided we aren't crippled by a GM selection that was handcuffed by Lovie having final say.
