LaVonte David: Greatest Defense Bucs / All-Time History

Was David wrong in his assertion of the Bucs current defensive talent when he stated the current Buccaneers defensive talent and scheme could be the greatest in Buccaneer history / All-Time NFL. This is the same player that stated after the week one defeat in 2015 that the defensive unit was mentally crushed after being dealt an early penalty.  Is this the new mind set under Koetter and Mike Smith that is allowing the players set lofty expectations for the 2016 defensive squad, that has yet to take the field and is learning a new defensive scheme?
