He was an offensive assistant coach (as an assistant wide receivers coach) with the Chicago Bears from 2010 - 2012 on Lovie Smith's staff so there is a connect and familiarity with him and he was also an Operations Assistant with the Chicago Bears from 2007 - 2009.

Hayes-Stoker comes to FIU after spending the last three seasons on the Chicago Bears coaching staff as an assistant wide receivers coach. Prior to being named to the coaching staff, Hayes-Stoker spent the previous four years (2006-09) as the Bears football operations and offensive assistant, carrying out football and business related duties in that role."Andrew is an excellent young football coach," said Turner. "I had the opportunity to work with him at the Chicago Bears and saw him progress as a football coach. He is an excellent teacher and communicator, and will be a great asset to our running backs."As the Bears assistant wide receivers coach, he supported the position in all capacities, including running position meetings, conducting drills and providing teaching tools and film study. In addition, Hayes-Stoker assisted the offensive coordinator with unit meetings and planning.In his previous role as the team's football operations and offensive assistant he worked with drawing passes and other facets for the Bears virtual game book, helped facilitate offensive scout team and quarterback meetings, in addition to other coach support duties.Hayes-Stoker's first entered coaching as an offensive quality control graduate coach for the Texas A&M football program from 2005-06. With the Aggies he was responsible for presenting weekly scouting reports as well as self-scout tendencies to the Head Coach. He also coordinated recruiting weekends for host and visiting student-athletes, film breakdown, administered walk-on tryouts and worked with the running backs.Hayes-Stoker played college football at Texas Christian (1999-2002), where he was a two-time captain. After graduation, Hayes-Stoker worked as a recruiter for TCU (2004-05) before heading to Texas A&M. He earned both his Bachelor of Business Administration (2001) and Master of Education (2003) degrees from TCU.As a star high school player coming out of Arlington (Texas) Lamar, Hayes-Stoker was named the Fort Worth Star-Telegram Offensive Player of the Year, Arlington Morning News Offensive Player of the Year and District Most Valuable Player as a senior. In addition, he was selected to the all-area team by both the Fort Worth Star-Telegram and Dallas Morning News. He signed with the University of Tulsa out of high school in 1997, but soon transferred to TCU in 1998 joining a Horned Frogs offensive backfield with future NFL All-Pro Ladainian Tomlinson. In 1999 and 2000 saw game action in reserve of Tomlinson. Off the field, he was honored by the Western Athletic Conference and Conference USA being named to the league's Academic Teams, as well as All-American scholar honors.
