If Bob Bostad is not retained as OL coach then maybe Jim Michalczik who spent a total of 13 season working with Tedford, 3 seasons with Oregon and 10 seasons at California as OL coach might be the target. Michalczik also has experience as an OL coach at the pro level with the Raiders from 2009-2010. He is the current coach offensive line coach at Arizona helping guide an OL that opens holes for star RB Ka'Deem Carey.
I know this year was really bad... but Bostad deserves a lot of credit for last year IMO. That said the style of line play was suited to power running. It was painful watching us attempt a screen or long pull. I assume based upon the backs Cal produced (w/ Lynch being the outlier) that Tedford's going to want some athleticism there... and probably a new coach
Bostad is gone. The OL was terrible this year.
