During Mark Dominik’s tenure steering the ship for the Bucs, he drafted one offensive linemen in five years (Xavier Fulton, Illinois, 2009 5th round), out of 36 picks. Dominik had eluded in the past that is was the prevalence of the spread offenses in college, that made it a difficult challenge to effectively scout O-linemen. He was the polar opposite when it came to drafting defensive linemen. Dominik preference was to allocate draft capital to the defensive line on a  regular and wildly unyielding basis, having spent 28% (10 picks) on the D-Line. It can be argued it was just as complicated for Dominik and his staff to gauge talent on the defensive line – seeing as only two players have had any meaningful level of success.  With Jason Licht manning the helm the Bucs have drafted five O-Linemen out 20 picks or 25% of Licht’s draft picks have gone to the offensive line. Licht, has gone lite, on drafting defensive linemen having drafted only one. It should be noted that Licht and Dominik have shifted, philosophically on where draft capital should be allocated, in such stark contrast over their staffs ability to grade offensive linemen entirely differently.  Dominik's 5-Year Draft History Pos # Picks %QB 2 5.6%RB 4 11.1%WR 3 8.3%TE 3 8.3%OL 1 2.8%DL 10 27.8%LB 4 11.1%DB 8 22.2%P 1 2.8%Licht's 3-Year Draft History Pos # Picks %QB 1 5.0%RB 3 15.0%WR 4 20.0%TE 1 5.0%OL 5 25.0%DL 1 5.0%LB 2 10.0%DB 2 10.0%K 1 5.0%
