Dungy endorsement or not, Vick would be a PR nightmare IMO. The stories would resurface (just the possibility of bringing him in has already done some of that) and the stories of what he was sentenced to prison for are THAT bad. Horrible cruelty to animals is not something pet owners easily forget. It would put thousands of Buccaneer fans in a difficult position as far as supporting the team.Again, I can forgive and would REALLY like to forget what happened but I simply cannot. I would not give up my tickets or support for the team. But too many people would. Can the Buccaneers and ticket sales really afford that? Is Mike Vick, years past his prime worth that? I don't believe so and I seriously doubt the Bucs would make that move, like it or not.

I'm with you.
Why would Lovie take the chance on a PR nightmare by bringing Vick here?
I'm with Garv on Vick. My wife and I are dog-lovers and have two of them; a Samoyed and a Golden Retriever. I don't even want Vick in the same STATE they are in!!

+ 1000. Bringing him here would seriously impair our renewing our tickets. We are dedicated dogs lovers, and you old timers remember Poppi playing Pickem every week and doing quite well.Lovie face would be in front of the Bucs dart board. I understand full well Dung's personal forgiveness, but don't rub it in our faces.
I do not condone what Vick did, but he served his time; lost multiple millions, and has been a good citizen. My problem is that he can't stay healthy, but if we could sign him for three million a year for two years with only the first year guaranteed, then I am for it. This would give us a year to see what Glennon can do and give us a legit back up either way.
I want no part of Vick under ANY circumstances!!!

Who's "we?" It's a TERRIBLE PR move and "he can't stay healthy." There IS no "but" after that IMO. It would piss off a lot of fans in an area that has enough problems avoiding blackouts. I'd be shocked and, of course, extremely disappointed if the Buccaneers were that callous towards their fans who were pet owners, against extreme animal cruelty or just disgusted by the hanging, drowning, electrocution and beating to death of man's best friend. It matters too much to be ignored.
To some Posters, I am sorry you can't get past Vicks previous situation. I can if I evaluate him on his football skills only. I am sure that Vick realizes part of society will never forgive, nor except him anywhere. The bottom line for me is that if we can sign Vick for a reasonable price then the value is there. Now if he had gotten off with no prison time, then my approach would be similar to some of the Posters. My goodness, where is the forgiveness; this human being has made his mends.

And I'M sorry you have a problem with the concept of a man being judged by his actions. This isn't a youthful indiscretion, it's sadism. I'm glad he paid his debt to society but, yeah, I can't get past his "previous situation". My opinion's as valid as yours is and I want the front office to hear it.
As Scott Reynilds would say; zothhh0, your message has been heard.

Honestly, it's not just the dog fighting. I think Vick is poorly suited to be a backup to a traditional pocket passer like Glennon (setting aside the question of whether he'd even want to be). He has a good arm, but gets happy feet and has such a different skill set that you can't really just plug him into the same offense, IMHO. I think Vick would be a better fit in SF, for instance, where their QB is much more of a runner.
zothhh0; good point. I really don't believe he will be a Buccaneer. It truly would be hard sell for Coach Smith.
I agree Vince. I appreciate the fact that he "paid his debt to society" but his actions went FAR beyond dog fighting. My brother-in-law used to fight his pit bull and while I hated the idea, it was his dog. However, Vick's actions went FAR beyond dog fighting. He hung them until they dies, beat some to death, wet some down and electrocuted them and reportedly laughed during their death struggles.I don't want to be anywhere NEAR someone like that, nor do I want my TEAM to be either. Obviously it isn't up to me but that's my feeling on the subject and the man (?).....if you can call someone who does those things a "man".
