Assuming that Schiano, Dominik, and most of the coaching staff stays; what might the Glazer's do to help in getting the Fans to purchase home game tickets? Here's my two cents: Demand relates to value and need and it has become evident to me that the football caliber of value has gone down and Fans no longer have the same need to see and watch football, and especially this team. The answer is to reduce your ticket prices and that doesn't mean just in the nose bleed areas. The cub seating which appears to be less than 1/3 attended needs at least a 33% reduction and the same for box seating. Why not have entertainment (not the parachute stuff, but real live singers) one hour before the game starts and that will help your concession stands. Who else has ideas?
Call me a fuddy duddy, but I prefer the traditional high school marching band at halftime.
win?
There isn't a need for ticket reduction. The Bucs are already amongst the cheapest tickets in the league. If you want to say all the entertainment and stuff, then ok, and I wouldn't mind seeing some concession prices reduced, but quite frankly, between cheap parking, cheap tickets, and cheap souvenirs, going to a Bucs game is already unbelievably cheap compared to the rest of the NFL.
TheAman; I don't think you can treat every team like every market. There are quite a few teams struggling to fill their Stadiums besides the Bucs. We are not a large market area and we are also an average age market of older people.
I understand that, and if they were around the league average, I'd agree with you. I just think that asking to drop the price of what's already an unbelievably cheap experience (Came in at the 3rd lowest of Fan Cost Index, only more expensive than Cleveland and Buffalo) is an unrealistic want. They really can't get much cheaper than they already are, and if they do what you're suggesting (the 33% slash), you're talking about far and away the cheapest tickets in football, and them not even being close to 31. The other things are certainly good suggestions, and I'd love if they improved the stadium experience a bit with better food stands and stuff, but the prices are fantastic.
TheAman; I learned long time ago that it is all about supply and demand. The demand is not here at this present time. The facts don't lie; we are 4-10 last in offense. Now if the Bucs were 8-8; you might have a point, but they aren't. Of course the owners could lower the prices if they choose too; this is not some kind of make or break business because there are all kinds of guarantees to make it a very profitable business even if no one came to a game. I guess I have to point out the non profit exemption status with parts of owning a football team in the NFL; guaranteed TV contract money; other sponsers, vendors who pay millions to be involved in the NFL Stadium paid by bonds from the community, Exclusive Parking Venues and any Stadium Control Events. That'sjust to name a few as there are lots more.
Cancelled my season tickets this past year (many reasons, price not really one of them, primarily because my seats got turned into a "group" section and I had to be relocated), but bought single game tickets for about half the games instead.Ticket rep called the other day and tried to get me to buy back again, talked for a while about why they cant sell me my tickets (45 yard line) to me because they are group tickets, etc. Finally he came out with "you know you could just buy the really cheap tickets and then go sit in your old seats anyway" .. I laughed and told him that's exactly what we did this year.He came back with oh good so can I sell you a season ticket package in the cheap seats then. Thing is there is no value to the tickets ... I can skip the preseason which saves me 10% (2 out of 10 games) and doesn't cause me to miss any football worth watching so that is the same discount for signing up as a season ticket holder recovered. I can also get someone who is a season ticket holder to buy me the single game tickets, another 10% discount and now I am spending less money than I would as a season ticket holder to only watch the 8 real games anyway.Team has no buzz where I am concerned about a sellout keeping me out of the stadium, Glazers need to do something more if they want to fill the place.
Seriously guys do you not get it yet? What will the Glazers do for fans? The same thing they have done since the day they fired Gruden ... NOTHING! The Glazers won't do anything that costs them money so forget about any Vinik-esque upgrades. No point even thinking about that. They don't care. They're in Manchester with people who despise them. They COULD. NOT. CARE. LESS. Malcolm won us a SB and started to build the practice facility. Since then? Lowest payroll in the league and gameday experience in the toilet. They do not care about us. They only show up once every 2-3 years to fire the incredibly horrible coach they picked and then pick a new horrible coach. Is it not blatantly obvious how little they care about this team and city? Raheem Morris and Greg Schiano! Are you kidding me? And you are asking if the Glazers will do something? They don't care about a half empty stadium -- they had a half empty stadium for the last few years and made huge profits (because payroll was so low). Yeah there is a cap floor now. They are weasels. They'll figure out a way to screw us despite that. What could they do for the fans? SELL THE TEAM!Glazers do something for fans? Ask a more reasonable question like: what will the CEO of Monsanto and former VP Cheney wear when they attend the Lilith Fair this year?
win?
VBF I like this post! How about setting up PR showing training and conditioning commitments to the fans. We need to be convinced there is a committed effort to get better not just "Hearing" emotional charged statements from Penn to this fact. My $0.2 says the fan base can decide on our own, from being shown, if budgeting for season tickets is a smart idea.
I'm not sure there's really anything they CAN do at this point (aside from win). Been a terrible team for too long. Free popcorn ain't fixing that.
win?
that's all i need. To hell with the rest!!

There are more than enough fans in this area to sell out Ray Jay. Problem is the product sux and the fringe fans are fair-weathered. No amount of 'freebies' are gonna change that.
