There were not "pure" white or "pure" black, these terms are used by those trying to create a division in America. Instead there were families, couples, and groups of people enjoying the freedom to do what they wanted and play on the beach.
America is not racist as some politicians would have us believe. We are the only country that is built by citizens from another country.
We are a beacon of hope for the oppressed in their home countries to live life to the fullest and create a better life for their children. We have substantial laws that prevent discrimination.
We allow emigration to nearly everyone pursuant to our rules.
To label America as racist because of the past is only diverting our attention.
