If ever a man in the sporting world transcended the sport itself......and quite frankly all sports.......it was and will always be.....Muhammad Ali I'm lucky enough......to be old enough.......to have seen most of his fights....but there is so much more to the man than what he did in the ring.....Muhammad Ali said it best himself...in saying that if he would parachute out of an airplane ANYWHERE IN THE WORLD...anyone and everyone would recognize him instantly. back then....that was an amazing feat in and of itself.He was always my hero growing up for a myriad of reasons too personal to address here.I'm not going to write this like an obit........but I just found out Muhammad Ali is very ill.Never has a sporting legend given so much to so many around the world...... He was right about many things.......but more right about one thing......... when he would look at anyone with a microphone and proclaim "I AM THE GREATEST" He was brilliant, compassionate, a beast, and a gentle giant....and in these days of flash in the pan "stars"....Ali was the read deal. My prayers are with you Champ!
