Even if you're not a SD fan or even a fan of that type of music, you should be able to pick up that his guitar playing was incredible and on top of that he played bass, co-wrote and produced songs, all for a band that is in the "gold standard" of music to many professional musicians.
The guy also had a tough time with drugs etc., like many musicians.
