Gordon Murrey, who created the 1988 F-1 Mclaren car driven by both Alain Prost and Ayrton Senna, later created the McLaren F1 roadcar. That car has been one of the most dominant supercars ever made for the last few decades. Most new hypercars are always heavier with more horsepower. But, if you put them on a racing circuit, generally, the Mclaren racing car will win out. Adrian Newey is trying to make his own version of the Mclaren F1.

Back in the 1950s at least, the idea of sportscar racing was to by able to take your sportscar to the racetrack and race it. And then, to drive it home. This is more or less the idea of Adrian's new car. Well, there's a road version and a racing version. The racing version will be faster than the road version. The road version is fast enough; as explained above, only racecar drivers will own one.
I can't help showing this youtube I found maybe a year or more ago of Adrian Newey actually driving his first March/Leyton House F-1 car,
