And right, I thought about this after I posted it - I know there are a lot of intelligent, educated christians out there, and OT and his like do not speak for them, he is out there stretching the spectrum to a new crazy, so I don't mean to make a sweeping generalization about all christians,but I do stand behind the exact words I said, "typical uneducated christian-right"there seems to be this portion of the pie that is particularly uninformed and fact-adversethey seem to have taken the short cut - gotten their information the easy way, and if it doesn't come easy to them they turn away and go back to infowars.com to copy and paste an argument that might seem to fit their needsI mean, seriously, OneTruth seems to not have a basic understanding of biology, chemistry, or physics - and this has clearly handicapped his ability to understand things as they exist in the natural world - so he reverts to everything being either magic or a conspiracy, when in reality, things are not that complexhe's always shouting "SHOW ME" and "WHERE IS THE PROOF" about things that are blatantly self-evident; it's like what more do you want dude, what can't you see?
I would contend that his belief in the supernatural is a coping strategy, it allows him to assign his unwanted internal thoughts to external malevolent forces out to destroy him.
