The top number of Covid cases per day for USA seemed to peak around 1-8-21.
On a daily basis there were 304.790 new cases
and 4 days later, 1-12-21, there were 4489 deaths (seemed to be the peak.)
This works out to 1.47% or about 1.5 deaths per 100 cases of COVID.
On Aug 19, 2021, there were 158.869 new cases and 1030 deaths,
or about 0.648% daily new cases compared to the daily cases on 1-8-21, and the death
rate works out to 0.65 deaths per 100 cases.
Some rough conclusions: New Delta cases today are about 52% the number of cases at/near
the January case peak.
And the death rate of the Delta is about 44% of rate on 1-8/1-12-21, ....less
than half as deadly.
What is more interesting is that the number of new cases has seemingly peaked
in England. So it is possible that the number of news cases will soon peak in the USA
