It’s beyond any reasonable dispute that the Founding Father’s intended to vest oversight and most power in Congress (Article I) precisely because it would minimize the likelihood of big swings at the whims of the majority or governing party. Hundreds of elected representatives have to agree versus a single President.
Trump brings with him a critical flaw that is terrible for our Democracy and that is the “win at all cost” approach. It led his campaign to not disclose Russian efforts and that set all of this in motion. It leads him to do things like the wall, even though it will set our democracy back years. He is the classic monarch and so he’s literally imperiling a centuries old democracy to “win” ie to get what he wants (but cannot get through consensus building)
