JUst to illustrate the point, here's "gun logic" extended to a similar situation . . . 3 kids joyriding in a car get in an accident . . they are stupid kids . . 2 kids get killed because they are not wearing seatbelts . . . the stupidity is the cause of the accident, the failure to use seatbelts the proximate cause of the 2 deaths . . . gun logic says:1. do nothing because there will always be stupid people2. do nothing because passing a law to mandate that people wear seatbelts will just be another law people ignore.3. do nothing because people will still die in car accidents . . .
Actually, following your logic the answer is to ban the car. There are already laws mandating the use of seatbelts, just like there were rules banning firearms in that cinema.
that's not accurate because the car is NOT the proximate cause of the death, one kid did not die because he had a seatbelt on . . . . and the point was - when it came to seatbelts, no one accepted "it will not keep people from dying so do nothing," which is the "logic" applied by gun people to gun restrictions. Gun advocates fear that their guns will be taken away so they fight EVERY gun restriction, no matter how limitedSpartan, there were rules against texting in the theater too, right? Been to a movie lately? Anyway, not sure a cell phone and a gun are comparable nor am I sure that a law and a rule by a private company are the same . . .lolThe 71 year old had the gun for self-defense right? You think he thought a daytime movie theater in the suburbs was a dangerous place? what would be the reason to take a hand gun to a daytime movie at a suburban movie theater?anyway . . . way to skip right by the "fear"
This is the guy that claims he doesn't want to ban handguns. Then posts every news story relating to handgun murder to bolster his anti-gun tirade.
Fear. The more gun/death stories circulated the more support from the casual individual that something needs to be done even if it doesn't address the issue at hand.Still waiting for any psycho anti-gun folks to explain the legislation, that would have prevented this incident.
I know personally that I put that question on the table for him to answer well over a year ago and he's been asked many times since.
you were here "well over a year ago"? wait, who are you?

"Aggressive behaviour, like bullying, can also be a sign of low self-esteem. If someone picks on other people, they’re probably doing it to make themselves feel good. Bringing other people down gives them a false feeling of self-confidence. For a while, they feel like they’re better off than the person they’re bullying. Those feelings fade very quickly, meaning the bully will often repeat this pattern of behaviour."As usual . . . . . . .Poor Buggsy . . . has NOTHING to add to the conversation, but still needs a dose of confidenceBuggsy . . . do you have an argument that the gun was NOT the proximate cause of the death?

Both the wife and I were confident we would be able to look after them in the event something should happen. If you get my drift. And we checked, no rules that we were aware of.
