That's a good point.I also read where there was some indication that he something shiny in the guys hand (presumably the phone) while being hit with the popcorn. Maybe at that moment cop instincts took over and he thought "gun" and shot to protect himself.No excuse for him, but just a theory and most likely the one they are going with for self defense
