The ongoing con job by Trump is that he "won in a landslide" despite the actual results saying the EXACT OPPOSITE. In fact, he lost in a SUPREMELY "massive landside," going by his own calculus and, significantly .. HE LOST, HIMSELF . . the GOP did not lose . . TRUMP DID.
Recall that according to the Cove Smart Set, Biden was a demented candidate, weaker than Bernie Sanders. So, how did Biden actually do and how did Trump actually do COMPARED to his self-proclaimed "MASSIVE LANDLSIDE VICTORY" IN 2016?
POPULAR VOTE:
HRC won the popular vote in 2016 by 3 million, Biden upped that to 6 million in 2020 IN AN ELECTION WHERE DOWN BALLOTS GOP DID VERY WELL (i.e., big rejection of Trump himself)
ELECTORAL COLLEGE:
Biden FLIPPED FIVE (5) states: AZ, WI, MI, PA and, incredibly, GA, IN AN ELECTION WHERE DOWN BALLOTS GOP DID VERY WELL
Arizona was a 4 pt swing
Wisconsin was 2 pt swing
Michigan was a 3.5 pt swing
Pennsylvania was a 2 pt swing
Georgia was an astounding 5 pt swing
So by Trump's own calculus he lost in a massive way, but you wouldn't know if listening to Trump AND HERE IS WHY that matters:
"In a survey just before the election, 85% of U.S. adults said Biden and Trump supporters disagree not only over plans and policies, but also over basic facts."
THE TRUMP RESPONSE TO A "MASSIVE LANDSLIDE" LOSS WAS TO CLAIM IT WAS A VICTORY AND TO TURN ON LONG, LOYAL ALLIES WHO DISAGREED, LIKE FOX NEWS . . . AND ACTUALLY PROMOTE OANN and NewsMax (ie the people who would peddle his fake news) . . . and then today Randy Quaid (lol) . . .Trump also hired credible, well know law firms to fight hs election battles only to to have these respected LAW FIRMS WITHDRAW . . in favor of Powell and Giuliani (the people who would peddle his fake news) . . only to then turn on them when their claims didn't stand up.
in other words, Trump is the ultimate inhabitant of the cocoon. When reality doses not suit, he simply creates a fictional world to cope . . (familiar?). This is a real problem because overwhelming, voters on both sides wanted to elect a unifier, a President for all Americans (also a MASSIVE REJECTION OF TRUMPISM):
"In October, 89% of Biden supporters and 86% of Trump supporters said their preferred candidate should focus on addressing the needs of all Americans, even if it means disappointing some supporters. Only around one-in-ten in both camps said their candidate should focus on the concerns of those who voted for him without worrying too much about the concerns of those who didn’t"
How would a unifier unify though IF some portion of 47% of Americans actually live in a fake world . . . that Trump will try to make even more fake going forward?
Not good. Trump fatigue may set in over the next 4 years, but things could also be even worse in 2024.
