Who is to say what is the right "solution" in the Middle East, but the concept of a "two state solution" dates to the 1970s and is widely favored by almost all involved.
Trump reversed all that when he signed a proclamation officially recognizing Israel’s annexation of the Golan Heights
The move was roundly condemned by everyone, including GOP Senators and mentioned by some as a"double standard" that would benefit Russia:
"“American recognition of the annexation would contravene international law,” Ian Bremmer, founder and CEO of risk consultancy Eurasia Group, wrote in an email note this week.
“It would be used by the Russians to legitimize their annexation of Crimea,” he added. “Plus, it would make movement on the peace plan considerably more awkward.”
Now, Bebe Netanyahu has taken a break from his own collapsed government and numerous scandals, to name a Golan Heights SETTLEMENT after Trump:
"(CNN)Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has announced a new settlement in the Golan Heights named after his "great friend" Donald Trump.
Netanyahu unveiled a sign at the proposed site of the settlement on Sunday bearing the name "Trump Heights," and thanked the US President for breaking with the international community to recognize Israeli sovereignty over the region."
Cant make this stuff up . . .
If you recall, Jared Kushner was supposed to tackle Middle East peace. He's gone so far as to suggest that his secret trips to Saudi Arabia were focused on this effort. So far, nothing has come from Kushner. In fact, they had to hold off because Bebe has to form a new government:
But the early reviews are bad anyway:

TRUMP COULD UNDO ALL THE BAD BY BRINGING PEACE TO THE MIDDLE EAST, especially because hes rejecting all the work before him, essentially telling the world he knows best. Who knows how its going to turn out or even what the plan is (although the North Korea experience says it will be heavily focused on economic investment), but I guess we will all see.
High stakes. Interested to watch it play out. Probably tough to reverse course though, if needed, when a SETTLEMENT in the annexed Golan heights is named after a US President.
