So many in the GOP love Trump because he controls the dying minority group, which is mostly white, evangelical bigots. Think Pat Buchanan. These are people who want to turn back time (think MAGA,
the last letter being "again")

The GOP took heavy Russia and NRA money and big corporate money because its very much in the minority, so the Democrats get the rank and file money. Trump essentially promised a "no holds barred" approach and this worked perfectly with the approach of the GOP as its electoral powers rapidly decline.

The clearest example of the GOP, no hold barred" approach an its own realization that its dying with voters is in the stuffing of the courts. Trump and McConnell have been stuffing the federal courts with unqualified conservatives, just to have lifetime appointees who agree with "conservative" principles. Why would they do that? Here's a great example

the mostly white GOP taking American back to the 1950s with a "citizenship" question on the census. There's going to be a big court fight so better to have "friendly " judges
