Among the many things that Trump's conservatives want: get tough on crime, which means, among many things, kicking out so-called "progressive" prosecutors who allegedly look the other way when ICE shows up, refuse to prosecute drug crimes etc.

AG Barr is the point man for the get tough reform conservatives claim to want. In the most recent war of words between Barr and so-called "progressive" prosecutors, Barr said to Major County Sheriffs of America that "self-styled 'social justice' reformers are refusing to enforce entire categories of law, including law against resisting police officers" and this "put everyone in danger."

Okay, fine. The very predictable response from the prosecutors:

"This is the same attorney general who in the span of 24 hours attacked reform-minded, elected district attorneys for being soft on crime, while demanding his own federal prosecutors lighten the punishment for an ally of his boss. He touts the importance of the rule of law, yet undermines it in the same breath."

"demanding his own federal prosecutors lighten the punishment for an ally of his boss"

This is what Trump has done to America. When you selectively elevate yourself about the rule of law, you call int question the entire system. Barr is trying to stop his own prosecutors from allegedly ignoring the rule of law, while ignoring it himself . . . to serve his boss.
