On the CNN debate stage two outcomes were offered for the Russia-related impeachment:
1. House impeaches, but McConnell Senate acquits and Trump claims "victory"
2. House impeaches, McConnell's Senate acquits, Dems drag down Senate with Trump, politically speaking, use it top vote him out.
I would add:
3. they never impeach OR only impeach if they win Senate (very unlikely) . . or
4. They keep going with the Court battles and impeach on eve of the election
It took two holiday months for the House to impeach Clinton and he was acquitted in February, so a five month process overall. Does impeachment begin next summer?
