Its a loss for Trumpism, again, but the key thing is the parallel with the census issue, which Roberts also wrote on, which was also Trumps fault.
In both cases, Roberts has almost said "you guys may be racists/xenophobes but do you have to be such dumb racists/xenophobes?"
Before your Trumpettes freak out, here's why I say that:
"The opinion was authored by Chief Justice John Roberts, a conservative, and joined by the court’s four liberals. Roberts reasoned that the Trump administration’s termination of the program was “arbitrary and capricious,” in violation of federal law that governs administrative procedure.
“We do not decide whether DACA or its rescission are sound policies. ‘The wisdom’ of those decisions ‘is none of our concern,’” Roberts wrote.
“We address only whether the agency complied with the procedural requirement that it provide a reasoned explanation for its action,” he added. “Here the agency failed to consider the conspicuous issues of whether to retain forbearance and what if anything to do about the hardship to DACA recipients. That dual failure raises doubts about whether the agency appreciated the scope of its discretion or exercised that discretion in a reasonable manner.”
In other words, you just did it, you didn't even try to justify it or consider the impact of it (which is the hallmark of all politically-motivated Trump actions) and ON TOP OF THAT . . you, Trump, did something REALLY DUMB
AND BEFORE YOU FREAK OUT A SECOND TIME, HERE'S THE PROOF:

TRUMP DOESNT TAKE ADVICE, FIRES ADVISORS, ACT LIKE A KING . . BUT A DUMB KING. HE DOESN'T SEEM TO GRASP THAT HIS TWEETS UNDERCUT HIM BECAUSE HE ESSENTIALLY SAID, IN A VERY PUBLIC WAY (TWEETING) THAT HE WAS USING THE SCOTUS FIGHT TO LEVERAGE BETTER LEGISLATION.
THE SCOTUS IS A SEPARATE CO-EQUAL BRANCH, NOT A TOOL of course, the Court was not going to allow itself to be a political pawn
Trump's handing of this issue would be attributed to lunacy by almost any objective person because its so dumb, but its really HUBRIS and, frankly, incompetence, the type that comes with always firing every professional around you, which is his "MO" his whole life.
This DACA (political) disaster for him is not much different than the USFL disaster he created. Thinking he knows best when it reality he is a moron.
