I have likened gun sellers in this country to Big Tobacco. The similarity is a big lobby serving a minority interest against basic common sense. The turning point for Big Tobacco was lawyers, not legislators. More specifically, state attorney's general.
The same is about to happen with opioid producers as opioid overdoses are astronomical and big drug companies are selling drugs without controls (i.e, like gun sellers, placing profits over lives) and with the help of federal legislators.
