OP: You should alter the title to include things that annoy the piss outta you.
But then I'd have to disregard all the things I (And other posters) complimented.
It is hard to say X genre is better than another. I love RPGs in general but I hate Skyrim with a burning white hot passion...actually all the elder scrolls games are crap. I don't play FPS games at all in terms of Halo or COD but I love me some Bioshock and , again depending how you want to classify it, Borderlands.
Why do you hate Skyrim? Personally, I love it. The mythology and world are just so investing, everything seems to have been done with such beauty and care. It's one of the few games that really does take me to another world. Plus, I'm a sucker for great character creation and choice-based RPGS.
Skyrim is a game that I want to like. The world is deep and rich but the gameplay is terrible. I hate the tedious crafting system. First person melee combat always sucks. Missile combat is even worse in the way it is handled. Skyrim at least got the leveling system fixed over the broken POS of Oblivion. There is really no reason to do anything in the game because the narrative is so not even secondary but tertiary to anything happening. I can't at this moment even tell you what the hell I was supposed to do in Skyrim, and I hit like level 50 with my character, whereas in Borderlands 2 I was a lot more drawn into the fight vs Handsome Jack.

I mostly play archer and werewolf, so I know extremely little about melee combat, but as far as missile/ranged combat I really enjoyed it. Archery felt extremely smooth and effective, and on top of that, I felt like the more I played, the more I really started to get better, the more I became invested, the more I wanted to explore. I feel that the questing system for Skyrim was really awesome and creative, I didn't feel forced into a bunch of repetitive, boring quests that I didn't care for (This is done in probably the worst and most pathetic way in DC Universe Online, which is to this day the WORST RPG I have ever played, if you can even call it an RPG. Play that abomination and you will be BEGGING for Skyrim.) I felt free from the shackles that other RPGS contain me with.
I'm surprised I started a thread where I said I love the Star Wars prequels and nobody has thrown a tantrum. Speaks to the maturity of the users here. :)
