Approval of a Supreme Court nomination rest solely with the Senate.

Even if Biden wins, the Senate has until Jan 20, 2021 to approve.

Repub now control the Senate 53-47.

Four Republican Senators will have to vote not to approve.

So far Murkowski and Collins have said they will not approve.

It is also possible that Romney will not approve.

That results in a tie of 50-50,

in which case Pence would cast the deciding vote.

When Scalia died, Obama tried to fill the vacancy in 2016.

But the Repubs controlled the Senate and Obama's nomination did not come to the floor for a vote.

My best guess is that Trump will nominate and the Senate will vote.

Not sure of the outcome. Maybe a 4th Repub Senator will vote no.

Maybe the Dem Senator from West Virginia, Joe Manchin will vote yes.

Manchin, in a strong Repub state, is in the same box

as Collins in Maine, a mainly Dem state.
