fully agree he was a highly accomplished musician who played a variety of instruments.  For the most part, in my opinion, he wrote "party music" though....My first recollection of Prince was seeing some dood dance around in women's underwear on Don Kirshner's Rock Concert.  at the end of the day..........I think he was more flash than substance....I'm also getting sick to my stomach hearing Hendrix analogies.  HE WAS NO HENDRIX.  If anything......to me he was a poor man's David Bowie who had to cling too tightly to gimmickry.
