Dayton provides a good example (as sad as the event was. This is from the reporting:

The shooter was wearing a bulletproof vest and hearing protection with 100-round capacity magazines, Biehl said. The police chief said the suspect had two guns, using one during the attack and leaving the other one in his vehicle. One was ordered online from Texas. Police said there was nothing in his history that would have prevented him from legally obtaining firearms.

The guy was clearly nuts as would anyone be who would commit such crimes BUT there is a huge difference between factually crazy and legally crazy, especially where a right (2A) is concerned. Aside from Red Flag laws, there is no effective way to deal with mentally ill

However, one thing that would help the FBI, particularly because these shootings have a copy cat quality, would be to track purchases of guns and gun-related items. As you can see, he was clearly building up the "kit" for a mass shooting.

The cops dropped him in less than a minute and BEFORE he could enter a very crowded bar -- with an AR and a 100round drum . . .

THE NEXT SIMILAR MASS SHOOTING IS ALREADY PLANNED AND MORE WILL FOLLOW . . thanks to the NRA and the GOP . . the President is only now begrudgingly discussing basic background checks . . a law passed by Dems in the House 5 months ago.

we will have mass shooting for a long time unless and until the Dems take over complete control of Congress and the white house and even then the GOP has been stacking the courts in anticipation of, for example, a national AR ban.

Even if you believe in a brad interpretation of the right to bear arms, at this point voting for the GOP is like voting for the "evil empire" because so much unnecessary death is occurring in support of industries
