But proposing the bill for the coming legislative session accomplishes two important goals for the governor’s re-election."
First, it puts him on the side of “Moms for Liberty” and others in the Republican base who have been loudly making their feelings known at school board meetings. Second, it upstages his Democratic opponent in next summer’s gubernatorial debates — putting him or her in the awkward position of arguing, “Oh, no, we shouldn’t stop ‘woke’ teachings, we need more indoctrination of our kids in the schools….”
