@Kermit56 . . to the point in the Covid thread, last week the guy you celebrated for trolling (DeSantis) held yet another press conference to announce another "fight" against another windmill
"DeSantis is masterful at appeasing his supporters. His 'Stop WOKE' act is the latest"
"Do you care about trans-gender athletes competing in sports? DeSantis got the Legislature to prohibit that, and held a news conference with some affected students to publicize his position."
"Mask mandates and vaccine orders got you down? The governor’s your guy.
Tired of all those mass protests last summer? DeSantis signed an anti-riot bill for you. And if you don’t like liberal college professors and students cancelling conservative thought and dis-inviting speakers, he also mandated annual surveys of the political climate on state campuses."
####
"But DeSantis really raised the standard of publicity pandering with his “Stop WOKE” legislation last week.
This is a bill he wants lapdog legislators to approve in the 2022 session to stamp out teaching of Critical Race Theory in public schools and offices across Florida.

"A good argument could be made that, by telling teachers what not to teach, or employers what kind of “equity, inclusion and diversity” training they cannot require, the state violates First Amendment speech rights and principles of academic freedom. But proposing the bill for the coming legislative session accomplishes two important goals for the governor’s re-election."
First, it puts him on the side of “Moms for Liberty” and others in the Republican base who have been loudly making their feelings known at school board meetings. Second, it upstages his Democratic opponent in next summer’s gubernatorial debates — putting him or her in the awkward position of arguing, “Oh, no, we shouldn’t stop ‘woke’ teachings, we need more indoctrination of our kids in the schools….”
SO WHATS THE PROBLEM?
It's all performance art
