In Dec 2020, core inflation was 1.54%
In Dec 2020, oil was $49.50 a barrel. Today it is above $80---over a 60% increase.
2 years ago, the US had historical lows in unemployment for Blacks, Asians, and Hispanics,
and near historical lows for women.
In Dec 2020, the US had the quietest most peaceful month at the Southern Boarder in quite
some years.
Crime was less a year ago, and the requirement for bail and court appearances was stronger.
How could things change so fast?
