"Overall 38% approve of the way Trump is handling the presidency, while 57% disapprove. That's his worst approval rating since January 2019, and roughly on par with approval ratings for Jimmy Carter and George H.W. Bush at this point in their reelection years. Both went on to lose the presidency after one term.
For those who do not know, Carter lost to Reagan in an absolute landslide and Bush was soundly beaten by Clinton. NO TWO ELECTIONS ARE ALIKE and there is a very, very long way to go until November, but this is why the Trump campaign people are allegedly asking for Trump to make a "kinder and gentler" appeal to the public.
Also, I posted previously that Trump has managed to turn the Floyd tragedy into a full-blown civil rights movement. That is NOT good new for Trump:

Hard to imagine Trump making up much ground on race and he already loses on health care (they've never even put forth a plan)
