Mike Savage is the third of the three conservative radio talking heads and WAS the first to endorse Trump

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/06/18/us/politics/michael-savage-trump.html

In this article he talks about his hard core Trump supporter listeners and the “cocoon,” including a comment by one who must be CJ or OT. He describes the Trumpette’s refusal to hold Trump accountable for what Savage sees as broken promises (eg immigration)

Interestly, several Trumpettes here have tried to criticize Democrats by. Looming they engage in “identity politics.” This is Savage describing his callers refusal to second guess their prior vote and explaining why these Trumpettes will vote for Trump no matter what:

“Mr. Savage, 77, was surprised there wasn’t more second-guessing that day. “I don’t think they care very much about issues,” he said of his listeners, with a hint of disappointment. “They’ll vote for him no matter what because he’s not ‘them.’ I think it’s come down to ‘them’ or ‘us.’”

Identity politics. Fascism?

This is Madeleine Albright destining a fascist:

In the book, I try to argue that fascism is not an ideology; it’s a process for taking and holding power. A fascist is somebody who identifies with one group — usually an aggrieved majority — in opposition to a smaller group. It’s about majority rule without any minority rights. Which is why fascists tend to single out the smaller group as being responsible for or the cause of their grievances.

The important thing is that fascists aren’t actually trying to solve problems; they’re invested in exacerbating problems and deepening the divisions that result from them. They reject the free press and denounce the institutional structures within a society — like Congress or the judiciary.“
