On a campaign trail, it may make sense for a GOP/Populist candidate like Trump to talk tough on topics like immigration and policing, BUT we are all living the reality of turning tough talk into policy.
Trump AND SESSION intentionally unraveled all the Obama police reforms, because in their view the "black folks" are the problem, not the police. Historic race riots say they misjudged.
The same thing with immigration where they viewed "colored folks" crossing the border as the problem, not the white employers giving them work, so they came up with this plan:
"Top former Justice Department officials, including U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions and deputy Rod Rosenstein, helped drive a Trump administration policy that resulted in the separation of children from their parents, a draft inspector general report shows.
The "zero tolerance" policy ultimately separated nearly 3,000 children from their parents for crossing the border illegally, which is a misdemeanor at the first offense."
