There is no way that any competent political person - not even the lowest intern on the campaign - allows him to answer this question this way BECAUSE IT SCREAMS DISCONNECTED RICH WHITE GUY WITH ZERO EMPATHY (that is the very image Biden wants to paint of Trump)
The answer is so obviously bad (and starkly amateurish) that Ingraham actually steps in to try to save him

If you understand the process - the entire campaign arranging this friendly interview - you would have to understand why it’s proof that he’s lazy AF or just incapable of staying on a script
This was the softball question his handlers hoped he hit out of the park. The answer - in a normal campaign or with a normal POTUS- would have been fine tuned and practiced over d sad be over.
For all the debate about the criticism he receives, he’s actually his own worst enemy. He doesn’t actually care or his ego is so big that he thinks he can just wing it.... even as the failures like this pile up.
