Up till fairly recently, Ukraine was part of Russia. Two of Russia's leaders, Khrushchev and Brezhnev, came from Ukraine. Now the US is trying to push Ukraine into NATO even though
a number of NATO members don't want Ukraine in Nato. And we are willing to go to war
over this issue.
With Bagram air force base in Afghanistan, we had a modern base, easily defended,
near the China border, where there had been no American casualties in over 2 years,
and we give it up destabilizing Afghanistan.
This doesn't seem logical.
