Jury deadlocked and dismissed in federal case against humanitarian
Often times this means the jury thinks the prosecution is unfair, that the defendant may have committed the act but that it wasn’t “criminal.”
The US Attorney was trying to send this guy away for 20 years for providing water and aid to asylum seekers crossing the desert
Reasonable to guess that the jury didn’t see asylum seekers as “invaders” because that would made the defendant a “traitor.”
