With the retirement of Tony Gonzalez, 1997 becomes the this years last draft to have anybody still playing.Darrel Russel died in a car crash. The 1997 draft has one player in the Hall of Fame right now, Walter Jones, and not Orlando Pace(but Orlando did good). Shawn Springs surprisingly didn't do well enough to make the Hall of Fame. Yatil Green was the infamous injury bust. Rae Carruth went to jail on murder(or at least attempted murder charge); he's suppose to get out in 2018 by the way(just checked). The Nfl has had a few murderors in its time. The Raiders had a De Smith(I'm forgetting his first name). And of course the most famour so far, although not exactly conviced is O.J. Simpson. Another player from this draft just went to jail is Darren Sharper.Bucs fans will love this draft for Wr Reidel Anthony and Hb Warrick Dunn and Cb Ronde Barber. There's plenty of other good players to note in the draft. The seventh round produced Dt Jason Ferguson. Some people might note Omar Stoutmire. Most people wouldn't note Nathan Parks, but I remember him being a quality backup. Al Harris was drafted by the Bucs in the 6th round but they let him go . . . the Raiders found Grady Jackson.
Really big draft for the Eagles. They added a bunch of pieces to the team that would give us trouble down the road.
I find the Eagle's drafts hit and miss like. The previous draft they got Dawkins, and the draft before that they got Bobby Taylor. They seem to be good at middle round halfbacks. Their drafts were so hit and miss, they ended up drafting really high and drafted Donovan McNabb in 1999. They also picked up Al Harris for a few years . . .
