Dont know if this has been posted yet. Its a pretty cool off season video to check out.Im not too fond of the music but it is what it is. He played better than I remembered actually. Man im excited to see him in this defense next season. On a side note damn leonard Johnson sucks. Please please Licht ( its pronounced light ) get Charles Tillman. Banks, Tillman, Revis, Barron, and Goldson sound like a true No Fly Zone !!!! Go Bucs!!!! And I had to get the obligatory correct way of saying our Gm's last name in there ;) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sm6X0KcBR4k

Honestly, most the people ragging on revis have no idea what they are talking about. They hear shutdown and expect him to never get beat. He got beat a few times and will every year. The other 95% of the time he's shutting guys down and holding them to small production numbers. Even at less than 100% he's better than 98% of the CBS in the NFL. Only real complaint anyone could have.is his salary and even then it's a moot point until hos salary effect the the bucs ability to sign players.
Hope he restructures for us this year.

Me too, but I still think there is an outside possibility that lovie trades him.His value is high right now, lovie might think we need "x" qb before anything else, and HE may feel that his system can still function well without him. Now, I'm not saying I want the guy traded, but I believe it's still very much possible he, or the "hawk" get the trade axe. At some point somewhere, lovie's going to feel like he needs to clean up previous messes. Question is- what part of the team will he cull? I say ol, but I'm not a mindreader.
Damn, and he says that he wasn't even 100% Cant wait til next season.

I think Lovie is pretty excited about having Revis. I really doubt he entertains the idea of trading him.I just hope he will restructure to a deal that pays less per year, but includes guaranteed money.

Why would Revis agree to a restructure? Why does it matter how much he is being paid if we are currently under the cap?

Me too man I already have the off season Blues.

He is getting $16M per year because there is no guaranteed money. The price is inflated because there is no safety in the deal. He could blow out his ACL at anytime and be done and he would have zero insurance policy. It would stand to reason that he would take less per year if the contract included $50M of guaranteed money. That is how it tends to work. We are not that far under the cap. We have holes in our starting line up and a lack of depth. We need as much cap room as we can get.
Only worth 11.5 million max based on that highlight reel.
Bucs are 15mil plus under the cap not including rollover. Seems most everyone is forgetting that the new cba has the rollover and the bucs had 20some mil in free cap towards the end of the year. I'm not 100% but if they continue the rollover, they should have 20+ mil in space again. That's a lot when you consider most teams are within 8mil or less of the cap not including rollover.Revis contract really wont cause an issue this season. Depending on who they sign/resign, it may become a concern next year...but it still may not be an issue depending on how many holes the staff thinks they have and what they meed to fill them with. McCoy should get an extension and his cap number should ideally drop. There's also several contracts that were front loaded the past few years that will drop as well. Then add in big contract guys like nicks, Joseph, Penn, and zuttah who could be replaced, there's little cap concern in the near future. The bucs aren't going to continually drop big coin every year in fa either. MD actually did a good job with the contracts and cap numbers even if they weren't all great signings. Add in the roster purge and building process when Morris was hired and the bucs are setting in a good spot with money to spend. As pong as they don't get careless this team is in great cap shape for the foreseeable future.
With rollover we have an estimated $17M cap space in 2014. Minus $5M fir signing rookies. So $12M is not much to work with considering how much work thus roster needs. Cutting Joseph and Koenen will help... But the bottomline is you never have too much cap room. If we can gain an additional $3M i cap space by restructuring Revis and giving him guaranteed money.. We should do it.
I see no video.
Still the best corner in football by far. He also has no reason to restructure. Why would he? We aren't going to cut him. He knows that. Everyone knows that. No one is trading for him. They would have done it last year.

As i have explained several times now, restructuring to a contract with guaranteed money is in hid best interest. If he has a career ending injury under the current contract he gets nothing. A contract with $50M guaranteed is a very nice insurance policy. That is why he would restructure.
