Did we do the best we could with no first round pick? (I know its early, just thought it would be good convo)
Yeah, happy with the draft although Akeem Spence has disappointed me greatly. Really was optimistic with him after the preseason.
yes and noRevis is worth the pick at face value and not considering his salary and if hes 100% next season then it was worth itlooking back on it i like it less from a draft standpoint because i would have liked a passrusher and im pissed we dont have a 3rd rounder this year. just looking at who went after us id have liked to have grabbed Bjoern Werner, Chance Warmack, DJ Fluker or Sheldon Richardson. obviously we trade back some but those guys would have given us great returns based on our current needs.

dont know why are pissed. im happy with Spence. considering we took him in the 4th round we are getting the appropriate value out of him. he plays the run well enough for a rookie and eats blockers allowing McCoy to get after the QB. i dont know what you thought you were going to get

x2 McCoy is having his best year next to Spence.
Spence has been a pleasant surprise.

You should still be optimistic, although I am curious now as to what your expectations were. We got a rookie starter in the 4th round.
Too early to say, but I'm liking what I'm seeing out of Spence and Gholston.

Same4th rounders are supposed to be developmental guys, not immediate starters.
Hopefully they continue to develop
The biggest error of the draft, happened before the draft. Schiano, apparently, had reason to believe Freeman was not his guy. Why the "L" do you not trade him for a 2nd and 3rd?
For reference... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2013_NFL_Draft Like I said in the OP, I know its hella early, but I think he did do the best we could at each pick.I loved Banks. I feel silly because I would have selected him with our first rounder if the trade for Revis didn't happen. In that scenario I would've "doubled up" at CB and taken Amerson or Jamar Taylor in the second. I was p!ssed we took Glennon instead of Damontre Moore. But Schiano knew something about Freeman and got us an insurance plan, some may thonk the logic behind that pick was different. That's the way I choose to look at it. The Spence selection made me happy. We needed to find someone to help fee up McCoy. And someone that could help in run defense since we lost Roy Miller. I don't know his exact stats, but like someone previously mentioned McCoy is having a pretty good year, possibly better than his Pro bowl year in 2012.Which brings me to Gholston. I loved him in college, even though he kinda fell off his last year at Michigan State. The production and effort is what I would expect out of a fourth rounder. I think he has room to improve. Means. Was there anyone else that was picked behind him that produced this year?
