I realize everyone is obsessed with 40 times, but I'm more interested in the 10 yard split, 3 cone drill, vert, and how they actually catch the ball. I think if you go back and look, you's find that these things are much better predictors than 40 times.

Walter has the 10 yards up. Beckham and Cooks blistered the 10 as well so they have burst and long speed.  Ellington. Is weird he ran a 4.3 but his 10 yards was a 1.63 so he was terminally slow out of the blocks but really recovered well. Makes me wonder if his technique on the get off is bad.

I will be interested to see how he tests.  Good point though, the way he was used at UCLA would have made it harder to demonstrate strength at the point of attack.  I think looking for a speed rusher against a guy like Cam is counter productive.  Barr seems to rely on gaining the corner to pressure the quarterback, which is the last way you want to rush Cam imo.  Obviously it's harder to flat beat NFL LTs with speed then Pac-12 LTs.  Especially when you are playing a qb like Cam.  You can't loop around the end or he'll kill you.  You have to be so disciplined in your speed rush against mobile QBs, so much flatter in your angles.

For sure I agree about the flatter angles but the speed we have cant contain him I remember Cam always able to effortlessly turn the corner on our endsYou can actually see Barr progress with the way he played as the season went onI think these plays from his recent bowl game shows much better leverage and functional strength and looks closest to what he is now http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GmoA8w-RLgA

Yeah, sometimes a guy's 40 yard technique is bad and that throws it off and can be misleading.....which is why I wish they had WRs start from a stand up position instead of having their hand in the dirt.

Yeah, not sure if they think the track stance creates consistency and repeatable results but so much of the 40 is about technique more than pure speed. You would think they would want guys running from the same stance they might or would use in an actual game.

Linemen and RBs should start with their hand on the ground. QBs, TEs, WRs, and DBs should start from a stand up position like they do in an actual football situation.

Ideally I'd like to see us trade back several times until we are picking in the 20s. I'd love to stockpile picks in this draft, and if we were picking in the 20s we could still get a stud. Aaron Donald, Kyle Fuller, Gabe Jackson, Ect, ect.....there will be studs still there.

So far the unoffical is 4.31 vs. 4.34 in favor of Beckham.

Landry has calf injury. Either might be a reason he is so slow or he doesn't want to put two slow times out there.
